The Story Behind Two Worlds

Two Worlds is more than a design — it is a personal story shared by Phyllis Webstad, co-founder of the Orange Shirt Day- Every Child Matters and Orange Shirt Society.

Phyllis identifies as both Indigenous and Caucasian. For her, Two Worlds represents living, learning, and belonging in two worlds. The design reflects the truth that identity can be layered, complex, and deeply human — and that every child matters.

Two Worlds is a symbol of unity. It reminds us that truth and reconciliation is not about division, but about understanding, respect, and shared responsibility.
