Auto World 1/18 1931 Peerless Master 8 Sedan - Red & Black
Established in 1900, the Peerless Motor Company was a leader in early automotive engineering, introducing features like fully-enclosed cabins, drum brakes, and front-mounted engines with a driveshaft for the rear wheels - features that eventually became industry standards. Electric lightning and electric starters were added to their vehicles by 1911 and 1913, respectively, making a name for Peerless as a premier luxury car manufacturer. But the Great Depression saw sales of luxury vehicles dwindle, forcing Peerless to cease operations in 1931 - the same year they produced 1249 vehicles, 851 of which sold. The remaining late-model 1931 cars were rebranded as 1932 models. Today, just 327 Peerless vehicles remain, and among them, only 10 are from 1931 - one of which is a 1931 Master 8 Sedan.
